I have a High school diploma, and  was active in Special Ed in school and camp counselor for camp for the
disabled.  I am a Mother of 16 year old daughter, total care child dx'ed hypotonia/dystonia CP, visually impaired, (optic nerve hypoplasia, nystagmis) seizure disorder (infantile spasms). Also was a premature baby considered low birth weight with IUGR with 5 weeks NICU stay.She uses a communication device, wheelchair (manual & electric), wears glasses, Adaptive equipment: Aquatic bath lift, wheelchairs, AFO's, standing frame and Dynavox. Specialist that I've/she's worked with. PT, OT, Speech therapist, Orientation & Mobility Specialist.

Therapies we've used. Traditional PT, OT (12 yrs) and hippo therapy (10 yrs). Worked with local agencies: San Andreas Regional Center, (currently receiving Respite and Medicaid waiver) Parents helping Parents (was on support group to talk to new parents regarding, Premature babies, apnea monitors, infantile spasms).

I was on Board of Directors for Special Technology Center. This was a center that worked with kids and parents to find computer access to meet disabled children's needs.

 Member of the Library of Congress receiving books on tape for the blind. Blind Babies Foundation.  Have had battles regarding therapy (PT/OT) with CCS (California Children's Services). 10 yrs with Shriners for orthopedic follow up as well as RT. hip Ostotomy, pin removal, asatabular augmentation (hip socket reshape) Rhizotomy and Baclofen pump trial and long term extensive rehab following surgery. Advocating for parents in California for CPN to get services needs met for some of our kids.
