Future Goals

  • We are currently working on having local support meetings here in Lacey Washington. We hope that our fundraiser will allow for us to allow for some fun and exciting events.

  • To provide a clinic in which professionals volunteer their time to see children in different areas of the country, as a link for parents to receive information that will give them the option and knowledge of their next steps in their child's development.

  • To educate all currant professionals and interns (medical, social, legal) that deal with individuals with CP and other disabilities about the true expectations and facts that we deal with everyday. To provide them with a realistic understanding of Cerebral Palsy.

  •  To provide an equipment bank where parents can exchange outgrown equipment, clothes, orthotics, shoes, etc for the use of other children that may need them.

  • We are hoping to find a sponsor or have fund raisers to help us with "Parent's Night on the Town" and other projects we would like to have here at CPN, to give our members a special night all of their own. If someone would like to donate their services or time please drop us a line.

Goals Reached

  • Our "Regional Directors" program is getting an overhaul in effort to try and make it a more useful program for our members and our Directors. Look for all the new enhancements as they happen.

  • By having our chat room we have helped parents by having veteran parents and Adults with CP hold  discussions as a training session with other parents. Using their experiences as a golden opportunity to teach and educate others valuable lessons early.

  • Some of the future discussions will be  training in child care of special needs children in the areas of your CP specific training (spastic, Microcephaly, etc) tube feeding, seizures, uplifting and encouraging your child despite the outlook of the situation. ROM, adaptive equipment. Getting the answers you need from your physician, developing a positive relationship with all the people in your child’s life, and How to connect all these people together efficiently. Organizing your child's medical records, coordinating your life and taking time out for yourselves

  • By having our on-line support group,   we have given our members a way to communicate, ask questions, get support, just talk and develop friendships.

Newest Goals Reached

  • Developed a CP Awareness outline to help raise Cerebral Palsy Awareness in all levels from pregnancy prevention to aging with Cerebral Palsy.

  • Created a outline for Disability Awareness programs that can be used in schools.

  • Hosted a Parent Survival Guide Conference launching our Parent Survival Guide Manual.

  • Restructured our about CPN and regional director guidelines.
